Tetris House marks a uncommon incursion of studio mk27 in high ceilings. The project investigates an internal play of masses on vertical and horizontal empty spaces, within an envelope box.

Internally, the wooden volume aligned to the western facade – with a height of 2.85m and 19m length – rests inside an ample space with a ceiling height of 5.15m and a width of 11.75m. The office, on the roof of the box, opens to an internal view of the house – from inside to inside. On the ground floor, the fluid space between the entrance and the back of the house configures the void of the living room, which is also delimited – in the eastern façade – by a wooden shelf.

The plot shape, long and narrow, sketched a longitudinal placement of the house in the site and the living room, thus, could have cross-ventilation as it opens to front and back gardens.

The wood ceiling of the living room creates a intimacy sensation on the mezzanine, contrasting with the spatial sensation of the vast monumentality of the ground floor. The four bedrooms, including the master suite face the gardens in the back, and located on the upper floor.
