The predilection for horizontal proportions of the façade end up generating internal spaces with low ceiling heights. But it seems difficult to say here which assumption came first: in opposition to the monumentality of double-height ceilings – and going against common sense – the architecture of studio mk27 soon experimentally realized that the low ceiling height brought a pleasant feeling of coziness and warmness.

As in most of the studio projects, the spatiality then would not be obtained by large vertical emptiness, but rather by the horizontal proportion that is reproduced on the inside. History of architecture offers us similar examples such as the houses of Rudolph Schindler and Richard Neutra produced in the United States or the buildings of Alvar Aalto in Finland.

In V4 House, the ceiling height does not exceed 2.5m and the very presence of the ceiling is catalyzed by the texture of the raw concrete of the delicate slab which defines social areas.

The door-window frames, on both sides of the living room, can be completely retracted, thereby providing complete integration between front garden, living room, and backyard. On the roof of this volume, a large deck functions as a solarium. Wooden box, from where the concrete slab starts, host two bedrooms.
