Lee House was organized into a single one-story volume with horizontal proportion. The house combines the use of materials from two distinct moments of the office’s work: the finishing in “mk27 adobe” – from the projects of the beginning of the 2000’s – with wooden mashrabiya panels mounted on folding doors – from a more recent period –, used to protect intimate areas, such as bedrooms.

The portico on the front façade reveals the veranda and two wooden boxes separated by a void, which host the social area. Encrusted in one of the boxes, the kitchen opens into the living room. Likewise, on the other side, the bar also faces the same social area and is contained within the box of the bedrooms.

Spatial continuity between exterior and living room responds to the climate demands of the countryside of the State of São Paulo: windows can be entirely opened, transforming internal social areas into extensions of the external space, like a large veranda. The living room continues the swimming pool deck and crosses the plot, creating cross ventilation inside.

Lee House is a part of the group of projects that studio mk27 designed in Fazenda Boa Vista, located in Porto Feliz, which also includes Vila dos Lagos (2008-2011), Pasqua House (2013-2016) and a not built house defined by an ameba-like roof slab for the same clients of Gama Issa House.
