The faucet (tap) “Up&Down” designed by Studio mk27 presents two fundamental concepts: an investigation for material with the use of tecnogel for the finish; and the possibility of giving the traditional product new functions, becoming a fountain.
Tecnogel has a pleasant touch as well as being a very resistant material and can come in different colors, from very bright to the most somber colors, depending on the client’s desire and the ambient. This material encloses all records and the movable parts of products that the user touches in his daily life.
The new function given by the possibility of using it as a faucet as well as a fountain is activated by the rotating of a movable piece in the nozzle, from up to down. Thus the direction of the water stream is altered and moved to the side where it then becomes possible to drink water comfortably.
Studio mk27 brings to this product a synthesis of the mind-set that is brought to all projects. Simultaneously, the Studio uses minimalist and playful designs, where the value lies in the ease-of-use and by the precision of shapes.
